Volunteering at the Abruzzo & Molise Club

Volunteering is the heart and soul of our organisation. Volunteers play a vital role in the Abruzzo & Molise Club Community.

Volunteering can provide the opportunity to help others, gain experience, improve career prospects and meet new people. There are many volunteering opportunities available at the Abruzzo & Molise Club.

Why Volunteer?

People volunteer for a wide variety of reasons, especially wanting to help others. But it's also OK to want some benefits for yourself from volunteering.

Volunteering provides opportunity to:

  • Give something back to the community
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Make a difference to the lives of others
  • Feel valued and part of a team
  • Spend quality time away from work or a busy lifestyle
  • Gain confidence and self-esteem
  • Get to know the local community
  • To give back to, or get involved in, my community
  • Experience new challenges

Volunteering can be a way of:

  • Gaining new skills, knowledge and experience
  • Developing existing skills and knowledge
  • Enhancing a CV
  • Improving one's employment prospects
  • Using one's professional skills and knowledge to benefit others
  • Developing professional networks

Research has also found that volunteers have:

  • Longer lives
  • Lower rates of depression
  • Less incidence of heart disease
  • Higher functional ability.
